The Weatherkids - Learning Unit
How does the weather affect us?
The weather affects our daily life in multiple ways: the activities we can or cannot do, the clothes we wear and even our mood. Learning about the weather brings students the possibility to acquire everyday vocabulary related to their personal experience.
With this learning unit students will review and learn some weather vocabulary while relating it with their mood, clothes they wear, and activities they can or cannot do depending on the weather.
Students will prepare, as a final product, a weather forecast where they will talk about the weather, recommended activities according to it, clothes to wear and mood.
This learning unit is addressed to English language learners of 3rd and 4th grade (7-9 year-old kids).
It contains:
-Lesson plan with the learning objectives, contents, assessment criteria, core competences, key competences, description of the activities, and links (according to the Catalan Educational Law 119/2015)
